What is Stochastic Resonance?
Stochastic Resonance (SR) is a phenomenon where the presence of a certain level of noise enhances the detection or transmission of weak signals in a nonlinear system. Unlike typical noise which is disruptive, SR shows that random fluctuations can actually improve the performance of sensory, biological, and artificial systems. It is widely studied in neuroscience, engineering, and perceptual research.
